About us.

PennWest University Edinboro Ceramics

Committed to Education, Community and Clay.

At the PennWest University Edinboro Ceramics, we’re a community of people who love working with clay and sharing that excitement with others. Whether you’re new to ceramics or have been making for years, this is a place where you can experiment, take risks, and grow as an artist.

Where Craft Meets Curiousity.

We believe ceramics is more than a technique, it’s a way of thinking and making. Our students explore everything from traditional wheel-thrown pottery to sculpture to mixed-media work that push the boundaries of what clay can do. We encourage our students to try things, ask questions, and develop a style that feels true to them.

Studios Designed for Making.

Our studios are open, welcoming spaces filled with the tools you need to bring your ideas to life. You’ll find wheels, kilns, glaze labs, hand-building areas, and plenty of room to work alongside classmates. It’s a space built for creativity, collaboration, and a whole lot of muddy hands.

A Creative Community.

What really makes our department special is the community. Students encourage each other, share ideas, and celebrate each other’s successes. Throughout the year, we host visiting artists, exhibitions, and events that connect you with the wider arts community and give you chances to show your work.

Preparing You for What’s Next.

Our graduates go on to do all kinds of things - studio work, teaching, community arts, and further study. Whatever your goals are, we’re here to help you build the skills, confidence, and experience you need to take the next step.
